Welcome to our BSW Department.
The BSW course is emerging as an attractive undergraduate program for young people who,after the completion of 12th standard, want their higher studies to equip them to bring about social change. This three-year program is an intensive course with both theory and field practice. The uniqueness of the BSW program is that students are exposed to experiential learning and this gives them an edge over other undergraduate courses focussed only on theory. The up-to-date practice-based curriculum ensures their transition from students to professionals, carefully monitored and mentored by our group of qualified and experienced faculty.
The admission of students is processed online and is based purely on merit and as per reservation quota.The scope of this course is quite vast, enabling graduates to move easily into other courses such as MSW, M.A.Development Management, Public Administration, Human Resources Management, Social Entrepreneurship, Politics, Economics, and Journalism.This course also helps in the preparation for various competitive examinations. Employment opportunities are numerous in welfare, corporate and government sectors.
In addition to academics, all the students become part of the student forum called “Vidiyal” whose motto is “Learn to Serve; Serve to Learn.” The department has also instituted specific awards namely, ‘Best Budding Social Worker,’‘Excellence in field work,’ and ‘Excellence in Mime’ to recognise the talents and efforts of the students.
The main vision of this course is to mould the students to effectively learn and practice social work and, in the long run, to become global leaders.
The students of the department of BSW are highly talented, energetic, self-aware, confident and passionate towards bettering their surroundings and themselves.In the future they will indeed become major change agents and will surely make a positive impact on the society.
