CENTRE FOR INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION
The Centre for International Collaboration at Madras School of Social Work (MSSW) serves as the institutional hub for fostering global partnerships and enhancing international engagement in social work education and practice. Located in Chennai, India, MSSW is an autonomous institution established in 1952 and affiliated with the University of Madras. It is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)
The Centre for International Collaboration seeks to improve the global connect of the College with other institutions for academic purposes. It was initiated in 2021 with the objective to strengthen International Collaborations of the College. The Centre is anchored by a team of faculty members drawn from different departments of the College under the guidance of the Principal.
The Centre seeks to facilitate Collaborations through MOUs, Knowledge sharing / building initiatives like Workshops / Research / Certificate courses etc, Faculty Exchange, Student Exchange, International Exposure visits etc.
Objectives of the CIC
- Global Networking: Establish and maintain partnerships with international universities, research institutions, and social organizations to promote collaborative learning and research.
- Student and Faculty Exchange: Facilitate exchange programs that allow students and faculty to gain exposure to global perspectives and practices in social work.
- International Internships: Provide opportunities for students to undertake internships in international settings, enhancing their practical experience and understanding of global social issues.
- Workshops and Seminars: Organize international workshops, seminars, and conferences to discuss and disseminate knowledge on contemporary social work practices and policies.
- Research Collaboration: Encourage joint research initiatives with international partners to address global social challenges and contribute to the development of social work knowledge.
