The Department of human resources of madras school of social work conducted their annual HR event 'HR Symphony' at The Raintree on the 28th of this month. The event was conducted by the students and spearheaded by Dr. Jayanthi Peter, HOD, along with the faculty team of HRM and The theme of this year's event is Employee Relations-a new paradigm. The event was presided over by Mr. Vinod Chelambathodi, founder and chairman of Backtrak and Mr. Gurubharan Swaminathan, Head HR of TCS BPS. The event focused on employee relations and how it's applied in each sector. Specialized panel discussions were conducted to discuss and analyze perspectives of ER in manufacturing and service sectors. Mr. Suresh Kumar, Head HR of Bonfiglioli, Mr . Vijay Kumar, Head HR of Pfizer, Mr. Chandra Shekhar, assistant VP of CUMI, and Mr. Veeraswamy IR Head of ITC limited took part in discussing the manufacturing sector perspectives. The session was moderated by Mr. Muthu Kumar Thanu of group CHIRO TAFE. The second panel discussion, the perspectives of ER in service sector was partaken by Mr. Bharathan Prahalad, Global Head HR of people first software and Ms. Angelyn Jayaseelan, Associate director HR of CSC and in turn was moderated by Mr. Joseph Abraham, CEO and founder of Skillingly . The panel discussions were not only interesting and informative but rather thought provoking as well. The valedictory session was presented by Mr. Sujith Kumar, president of NHRD and HR business leader of Infosys private Ltd, who not just entertained but also invigorated the crowd with his influential speech.
