‘Reflection’ is an initiative of MSSW Library to provide a platform for students to discuss/ debate various issues of concern. It encourages students to read, review and reflect on important issues. Reflection organized a discussion session on Draft National Education Policy, 2016 on 10th September, 2016 between 02.00 and 04.30 p.m in the College Auditorium, MSSW.
The discussion session started with the welcome address and overview of the programme by Dr.V.Sakthi Rekha, Librarian MSSW. Dr.S.Raja Samuel, Principal cum Secretary, College Committee, MSSW and Programme Convenor gave the Presidential Address. Mr.Sheik Mydeen, Education Correspondent, Dinamalar, Dr.S.Swaminathan, Founder President of Society for Quality Education and Research, Dr.R.Thangamuniyandi, President, The NET/SET Association and Mr.Francis Adaikalam, Assistant Professor, Loyola College, Chennai were the speakers who enlightened the participants with their views on the Draft National Education Policy.
Three students of MSSW namely Mr.M.Siddharth, I year MSW (Shift I)), Ms.Gayathri Pattnam, I year MA-DM and Ms.Gayathri, A, I year MA-HR&OD presented their views on Draft National Education Policy, 2016. There was a very vibrant interactive session for about half an hour after the presentations. Many questions and supplement comments were put forth by participants. Speakers answered and appreciated the questions. Total number of participants was 175 including 52 participants (both faculty and students) from other colleges namely, Ethiraj College for Women, Gurunanak College, Meenakshi College for Women and CTTE College for Women.
Dr.R.Subhashini, Dean, Self-financed stream, MSSW felicitated the occasion and the programme came to end with vote of thanks by Dr.Rachel, Asst. Prof., MSW (Shift II) and Member, Library Committee.
