A session on Yoga was organized by the college on 09.10.2016, Saturday from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the Open air auditorium. Ms. Sai Geetha, Yoga practitioner was the resource person.
The session focused on various yogic practices. Beginning with yogic kriyas focusing on breathing techniques through the method of anilom vilom and kapalbathi which targets airway cleansing and relaxation. The session progressed with seated asanas such as padmasana, vajrasana and Progressively intensifying with standing asanas such as tadasana, utkatasana and trikonasana. Various prone and supine asana such as dhanurasana, bhujangasana and setu bandasana were also also performed to give the wholesome feeling to the students.
20 students from the departments of psychology and social work participated in performing the asanas and did express their immense feeling of wellbeing and satisfaction that they received from the session.
