In a time and space of catastrophe, riots, work stress and many other such negative elements bogging down everyone’s lives, a simple spark of positivity ignited in the conference has lit the spirits and thoughts of the attendees. Eminent dignitaries from a variety of fields delivered optimistic welcome addresses.
The first speaker of the day, Dr. Kamalesh Singh introduced the gathering to a variety of projects and ideas undertaken by her, giving the attendees a flavor of northern India and their culture and ideas. She directed everyone toward a more pragmatic approach to psychological test tools and constructs. It was followed by a lecture delivered by the second speaker for the conference, Dr. LathaSatish. She enlightened the assembly about the importance of yoga and its principles: - Discipline, Attitude & Direction required to mind shift from negativity towards the positive. The third speaker, Dr. Shamshad Ahmed, extended her experience and expertise to the congregation, channeling the attention from the clients to the counselors and emphasizing the need to take a solution focused stance rather than a problem-focused approach. Dr. AlenaSlezackova, the final speaker of the international conference, gracefully addressed the gathering instilling the hope in positive psychology and imbibing the same in everyday lives.
The positivity in the post lunch session remained intact, where a variety of papers were presented upon varied topics pertaining to positive psychology. It ranged from motivation to marital adjustment including resilence, personal effectiveness, trust, happiness, etc measured upon different populations like Corporates, Young adults, Homosexuals, Sportsmen, flood victims and other clinical population. Best paper was awarded to five presenters out of a total 30 presenters.
