The UGC Sponsored National Seminar, THRIVE’18: EMBRACING DISRUPTIONS was organized at Hotel Accord Metropolitan, by the Human Relations Study Circle (HRSC) of the Department of Social Work (Aided). THRIVE 18 was inaugurated by Shri. R. Vikraman, Director HR, NLC India Ltd. with his talk on Evolution of HR through Disruptions.
Shri. MaFoi K. Pandiarajan, Honourable Minister - Tamil Language and Culture, Chief Guest of the day, delineated what do we actually mean by the term “Disruptions” and elaborated on the disruptions as it impacts society and businesses and why it is critical for not just HR but for all to embrace it to one’s advantage .
Mr. Satish Rajarathnam, Director HR, Cognizant, led a lively talk on HR in the SMAC Era followed by Mr. Rajendran Dandapani, Business Solutions Evangelist, Zoho Corporation insights on Managing Millennials in the VUCA World.
The third session, a panel discussion on Transformational HR: Business Partner to Business Enabler was moderated by Mr. M. Parvez Alam, COO, UCAL-JAP Systems Ltd. with the panellists being Mr. Dhanabalan RK, VP HR, Maveric System Ltd., Mr. E. Balaji, President- People Services, TVS Logistics and Ms. Deepa Prabhakaran, Practice Lead- OD, Infosys.
The highlight of the post lunch session was the Big Debate on Embracing Disruptions: the Dots Vs the Dot Connectors moderated by Mr. Bharathan Prahalad, AVP HR, FSS. Mr. Shantaram R, Co-Founder, Kelsa Solutions and Mr. Maran B, HR Consultant spiced up the session by deliberating for the Dots as performers par excellence. Mr. Lakshmi Narayan NJ, Executive Director, Build HR Management Consultants Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Madhu Ragunath, Head-HR & Operations, Group Head- HR &OC, TVS & Sons sensitized on why and how the Dot Connectors deliver positive people experience at Workplace.
THRIVE 18 concluded with the valedictory address on HR Leadership 2020 by Ms. Meenalochani Kumar, Senior Director & Global Design Lead, Sutherland. About 200 corporate and student participants attended the event. The event was co-sponsored by NLC India Ltd., Vedanta Sterlite Copper, Dinamalar and The Hindu.
