Social Surfing 3.0 – A workshop on Online Safety, Counter Speech, Cyber Etiquette & Social Media for Social change was organized by UGC-Network Resource Center on 17/07/2017, Monday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the Conference Hall. Mr. Amitabh, Ms. Arnika, Mr. Vikram and Ms. Shivani were the resource persons from Center for Social Research, New Delhi.

 

The workshop was focused on online safety, optimum use of counter speech and the need for gender sensitive cyber etiquette. There were a few activities during the workshop through which the importance of communication and the use of social media for social cause were emphasized. Activities, Video Clips and PPTs were used during the workshop. The students were also made aware of the new security settings that are available in Facebook.

 

All the first year U.G Students and five students from Department of M.A Development Management participated in the workshop. Certificates were distributed to all the participants. Prof. Priya Magesh and Prof. S. Sudarmathy were present. The Workshop was co-ordinated by Mr. S. Xavier Vivek Jerry, Co-ordinator, UGC – Network Resource Center, MSSW.
