The NSS VOLUNTEERS of Madras School of Social Work (MSSW) took part in an awareness rally organized by CURE INTERNATIONAL & Institute of Child Health, Egmore. The event started at 8:00AM on 24.06.17 from the Institute of Child Health, Egmore. The programme began with a inaugural address by the officials of CURE INTERNATIONAL & Institute of Child Health,Egmore.The starting point of the rally was Institute of Child Health,Egmore and the NSS Volunteers walked to the railway station and then proceed towards Albert Theatre and walked all the way back to Institute of Child Health,Egmore.
A presentation on Clubfoot was shown to sensitize the NSS Volunteers and families .NSS Volunteers were enlightened about medical records and data collected over the past few years related to clubfoot and its cure. Few parents came forward and narrated the difficulties they faced when they got to know that their children were suffering from clubfoot and how they were alienated and helpless.
This event helped the public and NSS volunteers to understand the importance of clubfoot and how it can be treated and cured easily and how spreading awareness could simply help thousands of people. The rally ended well and proved as a satisfying and thought provoking experience to one and all.Mr. T. Rufus Singh, NSS Programme Officer, MSSW was present during the rally.
