As part of curriculum for the Non-Major Elective Sustainable Tourism and Social Work the students of I BSW (42) were taken to a field visit to Dakshinachitra, A Cultural Heritage Museum on 3/04/17 (Monday). The main aim of this visit is to know about the cultural heritage of the southern states (Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka).
DakshinaChitra is an exciting cross cultural living museum of art, architecture, lifestyles, crafts and performing arts of south India. The place not only displays these beautiful architectures but also performs the cultural events of the southern states.
The students were able to learn about the history of the architecture plans that were used in ancient time and their cultural practices and also about the lifestyle of the southern state people. This visit was very educative and memorable to the students.
